| The TASCAM
DM-4800 is the ultimate digital console for professional users who
demand a flexible, 64-channel mix platform that configures to fit
their needs. A "fat channel" strip in the center of the
board provides instant access to 4-band parametric EQ, dynamics
and aux controls available for the first 48 channels. Twenty-four
studio-grade mic preamps provide enough inputs for a live event,
and more can be added using expansion cards with external preamps.
The standard compliment of analog and digital I/O is more than you'll
find on consoles costing three times as much, and a completely confi
gurable 24-buss routing system allows you to re-patch the board
at the flick of a switch.
TASCAM's DM-4800 fits seamlessly
into the modern recording environment based around a computer DAW.
With a single button press, the Remote layer provides a 24-fader
control surface for control of premiere workstations such as Pro
Tools, Logic, SONAR, DP, Cubase and Nuendo. The optional IF-FW/DM
mkII interface card provides 32 channels to and from a computer
at up to 96kHz over a single FireWire cable. And the optional surround
monitoring card provides downmixing, bass management and level control
for mixing in up to 6.1 surround. No matter what your application,
the TASCAM DM-4800 adapts to the needs of any professional audio
installation. |
TASCAM's
award-winning DV-RA1000HD shatters the price barrier to recording
mixes and masters to Direct Stream Digital, Sony's 2.822MHz/1-bit
"Super Audio" format that must be heard to be believed. The stereo
recorder captures audio from 44.1kHz to 192kHz as WAV files. In
addition, the breakthrough DSD recording format adds incredible
detail with all of the depth and imaging of quality analog recording.
The DV-RA1000HD records directly to a 60GB hard drive or to a CD/DVD
optical drive, and DVDs or CDs can be made from hard drive playlists.
A USB 2.0 connection allows direct transfer to computer without
burning a disc. The rear panel includes balanced and unbalanced
analog and digital connectors for just about any format. The rich-sounding
analog converters are capable of recording DSD format audio - no
additional hardware is required.
Included with the DV-RA1000HD
is a wired remote control for dependable punch-in. WAV audio can
be processed with built-in 3-band EQ and multiband compression/limiting
before burning to disc.
Minnetonka's Discwelder Bronze
1000, a custom version of their software to convert DSD audio to
WAV files and create DVD-Audio discs of your recordings. |

TASCAM's premiere
multi-channel interface is the US-2000, a 16 in/4 out USB interface
that fits in only one rackspace. The US-2000 has eight XLR mic inputs
with phantom power, enough to record a large band or drumset. An
additional six balanced 1/4" line inputs are provided for synths,
amp modelers and effects processors. Stereo S/PDIF digital inputs
and outputs bring the total to 16 inputs that can be recorded simultaneously.
The US-2000 transmits your instruments at up to
96kHz/24-bit audio quality over a high-speed USB 2.0 connection
to your computer. To keep track of all of your inputs and outputs,
the US-2000 has a meter bridge made up of 100 LEDs. Connections
are hidden on the rear panel, except for a pair of combo jacks on
the front for easy access. |
TASCAM
has refreshed its best-selling USB interface with better audio specs
and a fresh new look for the US-122mkII. The US-122mkII starts with
two great-quality XLR microphone preamps with phantom power for condenser
microphones. There's also a pair of balanced line inputs and a guitar-level
in for direct recording of electric guitar or bass. The stereo signal
is sent to your computer at up to 96kHz/24-bit audio quality.
The US-122mkII connects to Mac or Windows computers using USB 2.0,
and the unit is powered over the USB cable. Zero-latency monitoring
is available for recording without the delay going to a computer and
back. MIDI input and output jacks allow connection of synths and drum
machines. Connect the US-122mkII to monitors through the line output
or use headphones with the front-mounted stereo 1/4" jack. The
US-122mkII makes a perfect portable interface with metal components
and solid construction built for the road. |
