The

A tool that not only permits any kind of fade and time manipulation
in real time, but also makes the high quality mastering effects
available to each individual track of the final master. All the
common mastering and internet audio formats are supported. Breaking
through the previous 2 GB limit for individual file sizes, the recording
and editing of complete broadcast or classical productions is now
enabled for up to 32 bits and 192 kHz. Of course, the final master
can be burnt on-the-fly from the arrangement as a Red Book-compatible
audio CD, without destructive calculation steps having to be taken

Compared
to similar high-end consoles, one of Samplitude’s undisputed
strengths is its absolute sound neutrality. The sound always remains
full, transparent and deep. Highly-developed digital algorithms,
absolute phase stability and constant use of floating point computation
ensures that the sound retains its positive sound nuances during
intensive digital editing. These are: transparency, neutrality,
preservation of transients and stereo field, best possible receive
of the signal form. Samplitude now comes with POW r, a high-quality
dither algorithm. Developed and patented by the POW r Consortium,
it reduces word lengths of 20, 24 or 32 bits to the standardized
16 bit CD format with a high degree of perceptible signal dynamics

The
real-time room simulator integrated in version 7 is a revolutionary
development. In contrast to conventional reverb devices or plug-ins
that use a reverb algorithm, it uses convoluting technology to compute
the reverb signal in conjunction with a three-dimensional sound
sample. This allows you to simulate the characteristics of, for
example, top recording studios, medieval churches or even world-famous
concert halls. It only needs a so-called Impulse Response: This
is the natural decay of a sharp, high-impact like sound such as
a gunshot or similar. It contains all the necessary information
to exactly replicate the room reverb. The result is astonishing,
sounding as though it were recorded in the original space. This
effect surpasses even the most expensive effects. In Real-time!
A library of more than 450 MB high-quality Impulse Responses from
digital effect devices and real rooms is delivered with Samplitude
7. These impulses were created in an especially developed and large-scaled
process to capture the best sound and extremly high signal-to-noise
ratio. |

In Samplitude professional, the Room Simulator is available as a real-time effect in objects, tracks, AUX busses and master channels . The impulse response can be manipulated with the dialog parameters, or you can simply select a type of impulse response. A graphic display of the impulse response and additional fade-curves allow you to get a visual overview of the impulse response manipulation via the Room Simulator dialog. Different levels of quality and latency are employed to guarantee real-time processing even on lower performance systems. Envelope curves can be manipulated with a draw function. The Samplitude MIDI editor has been extensively enhanced. It now takes a non-modal form, i.e. it can be opened at the same time as the activated arrangement without blocking the operation of other elements. Optically and ergonomically improved, with wider notes for better handling, auto scroll mode, auto soft scroll mode, scroll wheel support, greater zoom factors. Editing fields for simpler input/alteration of positions, note values, etc. (including note length input). Separate quantization for the start and end of notes. Selectable quantization grid display, quantization snap function, enhanced quantization settings (strength in %, swing, offset, tuplets), selectable number of octaves displayed and selectable Editor width (depending upon screen resolution). Virtual instruments
|
VST instruments can now be integrated with virtual projects in Samplitude 7 professional. The instrument output signal is fully integrated in the samplitude mixer for subsequent editing with effects. The VST instruments can be selected from the list of MIDI playing devices. You can then load one VST instrument per track. The instrument can be triggered by all MIDI objects on the track. The MIDI IN signal can be used as a control element with both MIDI recording (right-click on the REC button and select MIDI recording) and ASIO software FX monitoring. The Editor and/or the GUI (graphic user interface) of the instrument opens automatically when you load the VST instrument. Once loaded, VST instruments are assigned numbers and added to the device list from where they can also be used by other tracks. If you select such a numbered plug-in, the MIDI data of the track is sent to the loaded plug-in. If the GUI is poorly designed or robs too much screen space, you have the option of displaying 8 plug-in parameters as slide controls. VST instrument settings can be saved and loaded in either patch. Multiple output VST instruments are supported by Samplitude. Additional tracks for each output can be added as the instrument is loaded. Every VIP track output can be routed. Several outputs can be routed to one track. |

Automatic Latency Compensation
Many plug-ins work with a certain
time delay, or so-called latency. This is common among DSP hardware-based
plug-ins, especially Wave master bundles operating internal previews or
UAD-1 and TC Powercore plug-ins. Samplitude 7.0 applies automatic plug-in
latency compensation to the entire signal path. Native software latency
compensation applies to mixer Submix and mixer Aux Send busses. Besides
VST* plug-ins, almost all DirectX plug-ins are covered. New plug-in formats
are unnecessary. The plug-in dialog specifies the real latency (in samples
and milliseconds) for each DirectX plug-in or allows you to define a plug-in
latency yourself. Batch Processing
Samplitude 7.0 now has a new ultra-stable recording engine that now allows
you to save every take to a new file.
Enhanced 24 bit WAV file support enables direct recording as well as destructive
and virtual editing in the Arranger.
The compressed OGG Vorbis format can be imported, exported and recorded
directly.
Multiple trackbouncing : You can now save any track in a current arrangement
into its own file for subsequent editing in other programs.
Amp Simulation
An Amp Simulator has been integrated in Samplitude/Sequoia 7 especially
for editing guitar sounds. Now you can simulate vintage guitar characteristics
as well as all the latest amps on the market.
The loudspeaker simulator is of particular interest. It operates independently
from the type of amp selected for authentic loudspeaker sound. There are
5 amps and 10 loudspeaker models to choose from, al of which can be freely
combined.
Convolution Reverb in brief:
First you need a sample of the three-dimensional sound to be simulated.
You can hear how an area “sounds” by clapping. The output
noise is reflected, for example, by the walls of a concert hall. But these
reflections are again reflected by other walls. Early reflections, echoes,
frequency stress and effacements merge to form this areas typical and
unique reverb characteristic.
The impulse (e.g. original clap) is recorded and digitally calculated
with another signal to create the astonishing impression of sounds being
recorded in a completely different space. The three-dimensional sound
sample produced (containing the real room acoustics for calculation during
the convoluting process later) is called the impulse response A good impulse
response contains all the information necessary to simulate a special
three-dimensional sound accurately. This works not only for real rooms
(such as sound studios, churches or concert halls), but also with digital
reverb devices. POW-r Dithering
ASIO™
Samplitude 7 has now added ASIO*
2.0 to MME and WDM Windows driver models. The equipment covers ASIO hardware
monitoring and ASIO software monitoring (with and without the use of internal
effects and plug-ins). Audio hardware equipped with ASIO drivers enable
the lowest I/O monitoring latencies. This allows integration of external
equipment into the internal audio engine, or almost latency-free headphone
Arrangement mixing. ASIO driver use also permits software monitoring of
VST instruments.
Monitoring
Audio hardware operated with ASIO drivers enables the following input
signal monitoring tasks: ASIO software monitoring: The input signal is
applied to the master output via the internal audio engines. Tracks, busses
and Aux busses can be routed in any fashion. The signal can be aligned
parallel to the internal playback with volume fades, pan and Aux sends.
Internal effects and plug-ins are not available for input signals.
Input signal delay depends upon the latency of the audio hardware and
the drivers used. - ASIO Software FX Monitoring: All effects can be applied
to the input signal.
Monitoring control has been substantially enhanced so that in addition
to tape machine monitoring (with which the input signal can be heard when
on STOP status or during recording) you can now connect the input signal
manually and listen to the input signal during playback.
When it comes to creating professional and realistic reverbs, the integrated
real-time room simulator is a well-known and trusted piece of studio equipment.
Great for simulating natural soundscapes, with realistic imaging and more
directional taps than you can shake a stick at.
Registered Samplitude 7 users will find new impulse responses in the download
section of the support area.
These impulses were created in an especially developed and large-scaled
process to capture the best possible sound and have an extremely high

Video deLuxe 2.0
Samplitude 7 professional comes with the complete video recording, editing
and authoring software - video deLuxe 2. An excellent tool for burning
video CDs, SVCDs and video DVDs. Audio and video files can be reciprocally
created and re-used in both programs. Analog or digital footage can easily
be captured from DV/D8/analog camcorders, web cams, a VCR, TV or the Internet.
The time and space-saving batch compressing for digital cameras will automatically
compress your footage while capturing. Automatic scene recognition will
split your footage into individual scenes. Monitor the capturing process
in full screen for perfect picture logging.
Display presentations directly on
a PC or laptop, with a video projector, overhead projector, or with MS
PowerPoint®. NEW! Now also for viewing on TV with DVD players or VCRs.
Start editing as a beginner in the Storyboard view and end up as a professional
editor in the Timeline view, where you can go into detail on up to 16
tracks. Applied effects are displayed in real-time without rendering.
